Due to the recent news of a confirmed case of community spread COVID-19 in Ohio, the designation of a global pandemic, and based on the recommendations from Ohio’s Department of Health, Mark E. Owens, chairman of the Montgomery County Democratic Party (MCDP) has made the responsible decision to postpone tonight’s Frolic for Funds. The event featuring keynote speaker Kathleen Clyde, was scheduled to take place this evening at the Dayton Convention Center.
Almost 600 Democrats from across Montgomery County typically gather at MCDP’s largest annual fundraiser each spring to energize volunteers for Ohio’s Primary Election, hear from endorsed Democratic candidates on local issues, and present awards like Democrat of the Year.
“The decision to postpone a large event is not taken lightly,” said Owens. “The COVID-19 situation is still developing and we do not want to put our attendees, volunteers, or vendors at risk. The event will be rescheduled once Ohio’s Department of Health changes their recommendation on large gatherings.”
More information was emailed to those with tickets to the event; however, if an attendee did not receive the message they can contact MCDP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 937-222-4007. Tickets will be honored at the rescheduled event. To find out more information on future Frolic for Funds, follow Montgomery County Democratic Party on Facebook.
