Overview

Brand Use & Ownership

The Montgomery County Democratic Party (“MCDP”) takes great care in the development and protection of its identity. MCDP reserves all rights in its names, logos, wordmarks, and associated branding elements (“MCDP Marks”).

Permitted without prior approval (text-only references):
You may refer to “Montgomery County Democratic Party,” “Montgomery County Democrats,” "MCDP," or “MC Dems” in plain text to accurately describe MCDP, its programs, or factual relationships. Such references must be clear and not misleading about sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement.

Requires prior written consent:
Any use of MCDP logos, wordmarks, lockups, icons, or other brand elements—including co-branding, merchandise, signage, or prominent placement in print/digital materials—must be approved in writing by MCDP Chairman or Executive Director. Candidate endorsements must be approved by the screening committee. Unauthorized use that may cause confusion about MCDP’s sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement is prohibited.

Logo Version

MCDP provides approved logo files for digital and print use. Use only the versions supplied in this guide.

Primary Logo: Full-color for light backgrounds; white knockout for dark backgrounds.

Size & Visibility

Clear Space: Maintain open space around the logo equal to the height of the “M” in “Montgomery.” No text, graphics, or edges should intrude.
Minimum Sizes: Wordmark ≥ 160 px wide (digital) or ≥ 0.5 in high (print). Avatar ≥ 64 px.
Legibility: Ensure strong contrast and crisp rendering at all sizes.

Color Usage

Use only approved brand colors.

Primary: Deep Teal (#063F4B)
Accents: Gold (#F6B247), Blue-Teal (#35748C), Green-Teal (#43A687), Red (#C70030)
Neutral: Off-White (#F3F1ED)
Preferred pairings: Deep Teal on light backgrounds; White logo on Deep Teal.
Accessibility: target at least 4.5:1 contrast for body text and essential elements

Incorrect Use

Do not:

Change logo colors or apply unapproved effects (glows, shadows, outlines).
Stretch, skew, compress, or rotate the logo.
Modify, crop, or rearrange elements of the mark.
Place the logo on busy/low-contrast backgrounds that hurt legibility.
Add additional text, symbols, or graphics inside the clear space.

Attribution & Compliance

Include legally required lines where applicable (e.g., “Paid for by the Montgomery County Democratic Party”) and follow Ohio and federal regulations for political communications. For print production, confirm CMYK/Pantone equivalents with your vendor.

Requests & Approvals

For permissions, exceptions, new sizes, or additional formats, contact the party’s communications chair. Only assets supplied or approved by MCDP are considered official.

Use is limited to official party communications, approved partners, volunteers, and media in accordance with these guidelines.
Candidates, candidate committees, and campaign entities are expressly prohibited from using the MCDP Marks without prior written authorization from MCDP.
The Marks may not be altered, distorted, co-branded, or used in any way that implies sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation without written consent.
All uses must maintain the required clear space, legibility, and contrast standards described in these guidelines.
Required disclaimers (e.g., “Paid for by the Montgomery County Democratic Party”) must be included where applicable and all relevant laws must be followed.
MCDP reserves the right to revoke permission at any time.
